DOMAINE DE LA RIBIERE

There is a large head of specimen carp that are unusually not only by their shape but their size also. The acidic waters of the Limousine area are not generally noted for the growth of large specimen carp, here the Ribiere is a miraculous venue as it contains original carp in the 45 - 55lb bracket. This miracle can be explained by the low stock numbers of the original fish, that were able to benefit greatly from the abundant natural food available (essentially little crayfish and bloodworm).

Ribière Record Falls : 70lb 5oz

Dutch Carper Robert Meijer from: Team " Karpervisvakanties.nl "  banked a massive new Domaine de la Ribière record on the 13th October 2008 breaking the Seventy pound barrier for the first time at this venue. Fishing on peg no: 7 the huge mirror, that tipped the scales at 70lb 5oz (32 kg), picked up Robert's Trigga Ice pop up at around 4am. The conditions were perfect with a warm clear night, and a water temperature of 16°. Robert fished his fluoro-carbon stiff rig on a 12ft 2.75lb Century Fat Boy Slim rod and Shimano Baitrunner reel. Robert commented: "After 6 years, we finally hit the Jackpot! A 32 Kilo mirror. (70,5 lbs)......
